What speaks Summery, flowy, balmy bliss? Ethereal cards check all the boxes. Lately, we can't get enough of them! With soft colors, layers and textures, join us as we dive into how you can whip these cuties up in no time. It's easier than you think!

START WITH

Your favorite stamps. Here, we've used Blossoming stamps and dies, Delicate Floral Fillers stamps and the Delicate Floral Shadow die. But any floral stamps you have on hand will do! Florals, by nature, are a little easier for working in softness, than say, a geometric design or other bold graphic. So this is our first tip! Keep reading below on next steps.

ADD IN VELLUM

Vellum is a magical thing! It has the ability to add softness to any design. Whether you use it as an overlay or heat-emboss it, like we did here, it's our favorite design twist!

SOFT COLORS

Soft colors key to soft designs, but did you know that deeper hues help ground the palette? We always recommend adding in a splash of them!

ADD A POP!

Softness has the tendency to get lost without any contrast. So we add in plenty by playing with textures and dimension. Heat-embossing, dimensional adhesive, and die-cuts all help.

CLOSER LOOK

A tiny peek at all the soft layers...And bits we've mixed in for these pastel designs.

To start this card, we heat-embossed our Delicate Floral Fillers stamp designs onto vellum, cut with the Delicate Floral Shadow die. Just below that, we tucked in leafy accents from our Blossoming set.

Arranged over that, we added blooms and buds from the Blossoming set, along with a Dashing sentiment.

Here is another example of these tips in action. In this instance, we opted for only a tiny bit of vellum (for the small sentiment), and added in bold green and honey accents among the soft colors. Dimension and texture are again front and center, with a mix of Cup of Happy and Pocketful of Joy florals popped up with dimensional foam tape.
