THE GIST

Whether you use the Recipe Builder set to create custom recipe cards, cute stationery, or simply to help add lines to your project, you can easily build what you want by using this set alone, or mixing it up with some of the other items in our lineup. We've compiled a few tips and ideas below, but don't forget to check out our insta and our other social media for more fun ideas and video tutorials.

HOW TO USE

1

CUT

Choose one of the die sizes to cut your stationery project base. The larger size is great for recipe cards, and we love the smaller size for vertical memo cards.

2

STAMP LINES

Depending on your project, you can add in horizontal or vertical lines, the continuous or the sectioned design, and you can even repeat stamp or mask for more/less lines.

3

ADD ACCENTS

Whether you use the provided accents, or combine with our other sets, adding in titles, headings, and other cute elements can help you dress up your project!

A TIP

We love using our Frame Builder: Hello Beautiful Stamp + Stencil Bundle to add florals to our recipe card base BEFORE we add the lines. Here's how we do it. Once we've stenciled/stamped the florals, we use the coordinating die to cut a frame out of a scrap piece of paper. We layer this piece over our floral frame as a mask, and add a little tape on the outside edges. Then, we stamp the lines overtop. This little step ensures the lines don't impede the  florals :)

You can watch a full step-by-step video here. Below is a peek at how it looks all put together (as well a summary of some fun features!) with our anatomy breakdown:

LET'S GET CREATIVE

There are fun ways to tailor this set.

Whether you're using it on its own, or combining it with the other items in our product lineup, let us show you the fun you can have with Recipe Card Builder!

Shape Up

Adding lines to a shape will dress up your recipe cards immediately!

Wait. Shaped recipe cards? We say, why not! But don't just stop there. You can add lines to just about any shape to create memo notes, lined tags, or even sticky-backed ingredient lists for your pantry or freezer goods. You'd be surprised how handy a set of lines can be. Even if you decide shaped cards aren't for you, you can use the lines to add a cute background, or a subtle guide inside your greeting cards, for perfectly poised writing (we certainly love doing this).

Also, since the lines measure 2.5x4.75, and can be repeat stamped or masked, most shapes are totally game! We love dressing up our Apron Strings die in this way, and tucking it into the matching DIY apron folder.

Add accents from the stamp itself, or combine with other stamps in our shoppe, like the Recipe Card Builder set.

Cute Sets

Make memo notes and coordinating stationery sets to spoil your guests.

So, recipe cards aren't your thing? That's ok! In fact, it's better than ok. While the Recipe Card Builder was designed with recipe cards in mind, we made sure to make it versatile enough so that  all of our stationery-loving friends could enjoy it.

We  love how easy it is to flip the dies vertically, add some lines and combine with one of our La Cucina stamps to make memo notes and a perfectly matching stationery suite, that can take your snail mail game to the next level!

Also, did we mention what a cute idea this would be for overnight guests? Adding a coordinated stationary stack to the nightstand - a few memos, a greeting card, a matching envelope - can help your guests feel right at home.

Personalized stationery is just a step away with our Recipe Builder set!

DIY Gift

A bundle of  recipe cards is the perfect gift!

If you decide to go with standard recipe cards, you can easily make a few to gift! You could tuck a favorite recipe into a freshly baked tin of goodies, or slide one into your next greeting card delivery.

But our favorite way is to make a bundle and deliver some unfilled, so the recipient can add their own recipes. (If you’re feeling really generous and you think your friend will appreciate it, throwing in the stamp set, and a few pre-cut cards will help them make more as needed, and could be super thoughtful.)

Either way, we know they will appreciate it, and think of you anytime they leaf through! Below we’re sharing our two favorite ways to display or deliver these cards (whether you’re gifting or keeping them for yourself).

Friends and family will surely appreciate a bundle of these cuties to fill.

Bundle Up

Tuck your finished recipe cards inside a card-turned-recipe-holder.

No cute recipe box? No problem! You can easily bundle up your cards inside a standard A2 card. Punch a couple of holes at the top of your recipe cards, as well as your card base, and tie everything together with string.

We recommend finishing off your bundle with a striking bow to hold everything in place. It makes for a  lovely way to present your gift and a fun unwrapping experience. Your recipients will be wowed as they flip through your custom-made recipe holder.

A gift doesn't need to be complicated or fussily wrapped. Here, we show you how to bundle up your cards and deliver them INSIDE your greeting card.

Clear Bin

Need an update on the tired, old recipe box? A clear bin is the answer!

Just in case you decide to keep your new recipe card bundle all for yourself (we won't judge) or want to deliver them all finished up, may we suggest a shiny, new, clear bin? While old-school recipe cases can be perfectly functional, they don't really show off all that blending and stamping you've just lovingly created. Nor do they always make for the prettiest kitchen decor. But! Switching things up with an inexpensive bin (we found ours for $3) can make your new project the piece-de-resistance on your or your bff's counter!

The clear bin lets all the gorgeous colors show through, and just in case you're longing for a matching box and card set, it helps you skip the box decorating, since the cards become the focal point!

It's perfectly ok to show off your art by switching to a clear bin. It can make for a beautiful (and functional) addition to your home!
